Europe contains many rivers so the vikings could take their long and narrow boats down the rivers and invade cities along the river. The Vikings invaded in Paris in 1400 AD. They took down many cities along the Siene river. The King of France paid The Vikings to never comeback, but it only increased the wanting to invade northern Europe.

This is where Leaf Erikson emerged. He set sail in the year 1000.He finds the coast of NeWFoundLand which is part of North America. His village has been carbon dated to around 1000. 3. Thor is the Norse god of thunder.Thor was usually portrayed as a large, powerful man with a red beard and eyes of lighting. Despite his ferocious appearance, he was very popular as the protector of both gods and humans against the forces of evil. He even surpassed his father Odin in popularity because, contrary to Odin, he did not require human sacrifices. Thor wears the belt Megingjard which doubles his already considerable strength. His hall is Bilskirnir, which is located in the region Thrudheim.
The most unpredictable and certainly the most dangerous god in the Northern pantheon was Loki. His activities ran from the merely mischievous to the blatantly malicious. Supremely clever, Loki ensnared everyone in complicated problems, to which he always supplied a remedy - through his solution often engendered even greater troubles. His parents were both giants (the perpetual enemies of the gods.)- Dylan Maini

Loki is an immensely powerful magician, and shares with Odin the ability to sex and shape shift at will. Loki was fair of face, and took many lovers, despite his constant criticism of goddesses who did the same. His wife is Sigyn, who stayed loyal to him, even when the gods punished him for the death of Balder. Loki's mistress is the giantess Angrboda. With her he is the father of three monsters.

  4. Option #1

Norse Mythology has a lot of different gods and goddesses. Tyr is one of the gods known as the "god of war" , and was the bravest god. He is very interested in fair treaties, and justice. He did many brave things during his life including putting his hands into a furious beasts jaw.

Another god that is well known is Thor who is the god of thuder. Thor is very "ill tempered", but very strong. The name Thursday for the day of the week is named after him.Thor is very strong but not very smart. This has to do with Vikings because Vikings have some of these characteristics that are similar to Thor and Tyr. Vikings were fearless, and strong, as they invaded many places.

  5. Option #1

Odin, known as the Allfather of the Norse Gods, is the most powerful and most important ruler in Asgard. He is associated with healing, death, royalty, wisdom, battle, sorcery, poetry, and the runic alphabet. The day "Wednesday" is also Odin's day, and he is thought to be "the leader of souls". Odin is extremely powerful in battle and has many magical powers to destroy his enemy or improve his own forces. He is also the father of many other important and powerful Norse Gods, such as Hermod. People have made books about Odin, made sacrifices for Odin, and simply worship Odin from time to time. He is the most popular Norse God.

Hermod, known as The Brave, is the son of Allfather Odin, and his name means war-split, warrior, or fury of war. He is also the son of the Goddess Frigg. Baldr The Good was the most beloved God in Norse mythology, and he had nightmares that he was going to be killed. He felt so threatened that he even told the other Gods and Goddesses, but no one took him very seriously. Like his dreams foretold, Baldr The Good was killed in the future at Hel. Hermod was the only God that was brave enough to ride to Hel and try to bring Baldr back from death. It was this heroic and courageous effort that gave him the infamous nickname, The Brave.

  6. The story I read was about two vikings brothers who fought together during a raid. One of the brothers died a meaningless death due to the error of a fellow vikings tactical blunder. After winning the battle they returned to the kings hall for a feast, the surviving brother sat across from the man(the king) who's error had cost his brother his life.
Egil starred at the king and was partially unsheathing and re sheathing his sword. Knowing what he had done the king took a gold rind from his arm and put it on his sword and offered it to Egil. He reached out with his sword and took the gold ring and wore it on his arm. Restoring the trust between the two. This action is a show of respect and rust among vikings, Egil understood the meaning. This restored the uneasy tension between the two.

Thor is a very influential and powerful god and is used by Vikings to explain unique and powerful weather events. Thor also is used as a symbol for protection over the Viking people.
Another powerful god was Hermod the Brave. His name represents "fury of war". In Viking mythology it states that Hermod was the only one brave enough to ride to Hel to retrieve Baldr and bring him back from death.
